Behind the name of CAPTAIN

Ada seorang lelaki menanya kan soalan begini:

Soalan ( Dalam scope Maritime ) : `Siapakah`yang layak untuk menyandang gelaran CAPTAIN? dan yang layak membawa gelaran tersebut kemana2 even mencetaknya di atas Business Card?...well,kapten Tugboat pon, kapten gak..Kapten Crewboat pon..Kapten jugek an?...who.who?...Pilot pon Kapten gak kt name tag nya?..,,,who is the right person by regulation and law derr??.. - no time to google -
Jum baca pulak jawapan yang diberikan seorang insan yang tinggi akal fikiran.

If u have a class 4-5 COC, and you go on a very small vessel, and are bestowed the duty to bring the ship out of a river, by virtue of your status as a Master of that little vessel, your crew looks up to you and calls you Captain.

You cou
ld be a Class 3 holder and in a offshore barge setting, hold the responsibility and the title of a Barge Master, Barge Captain.. your company bestows you with the responsibility and duty to oversee the vessel's good care and also hold responsibility towards the crew under you.. once again you are called Capt.

COC is a license which the Government puts their backing on you that you are suitably qualified for the post. There are many classes of COC that will grant you the title Captain on the many classes of vessels out there.. think of non conventional vessels, MODU, under 500grt, 5000GT-3000GT.. so many types that Master Mariners may not want to venture in which will still need a Captain.

There are many classes of Captains and masters of the many different classes of vessels out in the world. Not only big giant ships, but down to the little boats, tugs etc, yatches, fishing boats.. all these have their own Captains by virtue of the duty that they hold on the vessel, as well as over the lives of their crew. The crew looks up to them, and calls the leader Captain. Hardly people say Master anymore.

By virtue of someone's past experience in helming a ship, or bringing a ship into port, mooring the ship to berth, which is by all means the most complex of all seamanship, to steer a ship in by rudder and engine to a slot only with metres ahead and astern, with these expertise, the harbour pilot is granted his customary Captain status by master mariners whom recognize the complexity of the task.

Firstly for one whom has yet seen the rest of the world and the many ships whom have "SUITABLY QUALIFIED MASTER MARINERS" whom dun give a fuck about your life and death, whom will menindas you and treat u like the maggot u are.. Maybe you will want to revisit that thought when you look at the lecturers who actually give a fuck whether you pass or fail in your institution, and call them Capt.

Outside of a maritime vessel, people still call them Capt in respect of their contributions, and past skills and experience.

Honestly, a person like you don't have to call anyone Captain, because you fundamentally understand only the surface of responsibility. When you do, you will see that, Companies put the title Captain for you, not the Government in a maritime setting. Its the company that empowers u with the duties of caring for their vessels and the crew under them. It is by virtue of the RESPONSIBILITY that you are granted the title Capt.

Emma Maersk.....She is very Interesting

Emma Maersk at Singapore

  • It can carry 11,000 full 20-foot containers. That equals a train of 71 kilometers long
  • A single 20-foot container can hold about 48,000 bananas. So, in theory, Emma Mærsk could transport approximately 528 million bananas in a single voyage - enough to give every person in Europe or North America a banana for breakfast (wowwwwwwwwwww...)
  • The main engine of vessel produces 109.000 horsepower, equal to that of 1,156 family cars;
  • The anchor weights 29 tons, equivalent to the weight of five adult African elephants (how heavy it is???)
  • The newly developed, more environmentally friendly silicone paint used below the waterline on a vessel creates a streamlining effect, saving an estimated 1,200 tons of bunker fuel per year
  • A vessel is equipped with a waste heat recovery system, saving up to ten percent of main engine power. This equals the average annual electrical consumption of 5,000 European households.

Apa itu Tugboat???

Tugboat???mesti ada yang tak tau apa maksud dan function tugboat kan....

Tugboat is a boat that maneuvers vessels by pushing or towing them. Tugboats are powerful for their size and strongly built; some are ocean-going.

Kalau kapal-kapal besar mungkin 4 tugboat diperlukan.

So, jangan la pandang rendah kat tugboat ne. Walaupun nampak kecil, tapi pengorbanan mereka amat besar. Kapal-kapal tak boleh nak masuk dengan lancar, port pun akan kerugian, dah tak dapat masuk maksud nya kita pun takkan dapat barang keperluan harian.....

"Tugboat Crews, Thank YOU very much"

*citer tugboat ne untuk yang kat port aje ye...xtmsuk yg tarik barge ngn platform

Bintulu Port And Its Malaysian LNG Fleets

MISC Bhd is the largest single owner and operator of liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers in the world. It has come a long way since the delivery of the first shipment of LNG from Bintulu to Japan since 1983, from an initial fleet of five vessels under the 'Tenaga" series, now it has expanded to 29 fleets of LNG Tanker Carriers.(wikipedia,2010)

Seri "B" -      Class, 5 ship (433,821 DWT) (583,005 gross register tons (GRT))
Seri "A" -      Class, 5 ships (417,131 DWT) (478,645 GRT)
Puteri Satu - Class, 6 ships (456,409 DWT) (566,644 GRT)

Bintulu Port is the only export gateway for Malaysia’s biggest export earner, liquefied natural gas (LNG) produced from the Central Luconia field, off the Bintulu coast with the capacity to handle 23 million tones annually with its 3 LNG jetty. (MOT, 2004). As I have been attached to Bintulu Port as my place of Industrial training, I've been exposure and give some chance to going onboard to our proud Larger Fleet Vessel. Here I share some vessels that always enter Bintulu Port.

Kalau diberi peluang naik semula kapal-kapal nie memang aku sanggup, tapi kaki masih getar juga la masa panjat pilot ladder tu.

Here I post some picture that I'd take when training at Bintulu Port:
